
Costeno is very hard to find hot chile from the Oaxaca region. It produces chile pods that mature from green to bright red or orange depending on the variety selected. The pods are about 3.5" long by .75" wide at the shoulder. The flesh is thin and perfect for drying. It is often used in Mexican dishes to make orange or red sauces. The plant grows between 18" and 24 inches tall. There are are two varieties to choose from, Costeno Amarillo or Costeno Red.
